The 8 3/4" Tricone Rock Bit IADC747 is a three-cone rock drill bit designed for hard rock formations and is suitable for oil, gas, water well and geothermal drilling operations.

The drill bit adopts tungsten carbide tooth (TCI) structure, which has the characteristics of strong wear resistance and high drilling efficiency. It is recommended for sandstone, limestone and shale formations containing hard interlayers (such as flint and quartzite).

The tungsten carbide cutter (TCI) structure significantly improves wear and impact resistance, making it suitable for drilling in medium-hard to hard rock formations with a compressive strength of 15,000-25,000 psi (such as flint and quartzite).

The bearing system utilizes a rubber seal design and high-temperature grease, capable of withstanding axial loads exceeding 50,000 psi and adapting to high-temperature and high-pressure environments found in deep wells.

The staggered cutter arrangement effectively reduces harmonic vibration, preventing premature drill bit failure, while also improving cuttings removal efficiency.

Compared to steel-cut drill bits (such as the IADC517), TCI cutter life in hard rock is extended by 30%-50%, while also achieving higher drilling efficiency.

Primarily used in oil and gas, geothermal, and deepwater drilling, it excels in sandstone, limestone, and shale formations with hard interbedded layers.

The modular design supports customized cutter layouts, adapting to a wide range of geological conditions, from soft coal to granite.
